FOLLOWING successful gigs in September last year, Arts Alive is delighted to offer audiences another opportunity to benefit from some great jazz, thanks to the support of Jazz Services, the UK’s foremost charity organisation for jazz music.

Heads South, 2014-15 winners of the Jazz Services/National Touring Award, combines Afro-Cuban and other Latin-influenced rhythms with tuneful melodies in an enthralling repertoire of original compositions, great new arrangements of loved standards such as Mack the Knife and Guantanamera, and timeless classics such as Besame Mucho and Milonga del Angel.

The Band features top UK jazz trumpeter Steve Waterman and Cuban percussionist Chino Martell Morgan, with John Harriman on piano and organ, Venezuelan bassist Adolfredo Pulido, and versatile drummer/percussionist Buster Birch.

Think Buena Vista Social Club (in a smaller package), add the excitement of jazz, and imbibe the warmth of a Latin evening.

Heads South will be bringing some Latin warmth to St Mary’s School, Bucknell on Saturday, March 14. To book call 01547 530366 or online at artsalive.co.uk
