VILLAGE Fete proved a great success even though the weather could have been better. Fete treasurer Alister Gardiner sends his thanks to all the helpers and raffle ticket sellers. The gut feeling is that all of the local charities have benefited from the event. Which gives everyone involved encouragement for the 2003 Fete.

UNLESS you belong to the Gardening Association you probably didn't know that the front gardens of residents were being judged. So perhaps a reason for you to consider joining the association. They announce the winners at their cheese and wine evening on November 15.

AUTUMN show will be held at the Community Centre on September 13 and 14. Volunteer members are needed so please contact a Show committee member if you can help.

THANKS to Sue, Iris and John for handling the purchasing for Cedar Bar which has gone well. Also to the stock controllers who have handled the products with their usual care and attention. Gardening Association's next meeting is on Monday at the Cedar Barn.

SCANNAPPEAL are holding a 40's night at the Community Centre on Saturday, September 28 to raise funds for the cancer unit appeal fund. RESIDENTS Association meeting takes place on Thursday at Cedar Barn. They keep pressure on unwelcome planning and also a watchful eye on the Village Green site.
