AWARD-winning singer-songwriter Hazel O’Connor teams up with legendary performers, saxophonist Clare Hirst and pianist Sarah Fisher in a stunning new show, which comes to Ludlow Assembly Rooms on Saturday, March 19 at 7.30pm.

Striding into the spotlight with the 1980 cult movie Breaking Glass, Hazel immediately became an iconic figure.

The current show of fers the chance to relive those early songs along with recent favourites Driftwood, Rebecca, Decadent Days and Blackman.

The trio reinterpret their repertoire to fit the acoustic line-up of sax, piano and vocals. The set is a mixture of Hazel’s work and striking interpretations of some classic standards, such as Summertime and Stormy Weather and Bluja’s unique classics – My Funny Valentine, God Bless The Child. There’s also a haunting version of Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars.

Hazel is no stranger to the live scene, from her first tour in the 80s with support from none other than Duran Duran to her more recent critically acclaimed partnership with harpist Cormac De Barra.

Hazel O’Connor and Clare Hirst first collaborated on their sell-out Sing Out Sister show at Riverside Studios in London.

Clare’s best known for her work with the Bellestars, Communards and David Bowie. When the chance arose to reignite the work they had be gun in the mid-80s they chose pianist/vocalist Sarah Fisher (Eurythmics, Sax In The City) to complete the team.
