Volate Strings set to perform for friends at St Mary's Church in Cleobury Mortimer

THE Friends of St Mary's have invited Volante Strings to perform at St Mary's Church in Cleobury Mortimer tomorrow (Friday).

They are a small chamber group of string players formed in 1999 by the violinist Angela Richey, who died last year.

They have played in many venues around Worcestershire and beyond, including repeated visits to the island of Corfu. Later this year, they are also planning concerts in Bruges and Ostend.

This is their first visit to Cleobury and they will play a variety of music from past and present by a range of composers. The line-up will include Vanessa Gunter on the flute and the programme will feature Quantz’s Flute Concerto in G, Parr y’s English Suite, Mozart’s Divertimento in D, Grainger’s Londonderr y Air and works by Dvorak and Greig.

The concert will start at 7.30pm and refreshments will be available.

Tickets are available from Friends’ committee members, Cleobury News, Spire Hairdressers and Cleobury Pharmacy.
