THERE has been an increase in the number of businesses choosing to lease premises at Moreton Business Park, situated just to the north of Hereford on the A49.
In recent weeks, a substantial amount of warehousing and manufacturing space, in excess of 400,000 square feet, has been taken by a variety of businesses.
The largest commitment has been made by branded leisurewear retailer MandM Direct, which has recently moved into The Reach, a 210,000 sq ft multi-bay warehouse building which is to be occupied in three phases by July to house sorting and distribution operations.
GEA Denco relocated its Holmer Road operation two years ago. The move has proved so successful that the company has now decided to double its manufacturing presence by extending the initial 50,000 sq ft facility to nearly 100,000 sq ft.
And Gelpack Excelsior, which moved into Moreton Business Park three years ago, has also expanded its food packaging operation by committing to 60,000 sq ft of warehouse accommodation.
Among the new arrivals to Moreton Business Park is drinks and bottling manufacturer, Esterform Packaging.
Andrew Horner, of developer Great West 2003 Ltd, which owns the site, said: "The increased commitments by both existing and new tenants confirm the viability of Moreton Business Park as a successful location for business in Hereford.
"Since we acquired the site from the MoD, the majority of tenants attracted to the site have not only remained with us but also ended up expanding into more space."
The latest opportunities available at Moreton Business Park include The Glide - a new development of five industrial units ranges in size from 4,000 to 18,000 sq ft, and provides accommodation.
