ANDREW Morris Estate Agents and Auctioneers of Hereford were the first company to put property under the hammer for 2017 and had a most successful afternoon when a packed room at the Green Dragon Hotel in Broad Street, Hereford saw both properties sell well above the reserve prices.

A three bedroom semi-detached house in Breinton Avenue requiring full modernisation made £178,500 and a three bedroom semi-detached house in Seaton Avenue, Tupsley, Hereford, again requiring full modernisation, made £180,000.

Bidding was brisk on both properties.

Auctioneer Andrew Morris at Andrew Morris Estate Agents, Hereford said "This was the first auction of the New Year and it proved with the amount of quality bidders in the room that there is a huge demand for property in the Hereford city area to modernise.

"There was a variety of bidders, both from home occupiers, buy-to-let investors and indeed property speculators, who all bid on the two properties, before the hammer fell on Lot 1 at 28 Breinton Avenue at £178,500 and Lot 2, 48 Seaton Avenue, Tupsley, Hereford at £180,000.

"The packed sale room gave a clear indication that the Hereford property market is strong, demand is high and at the present time the availability of property suitable to go under the hammer is in short supply, hence the demand today."
