Charity shop will carry on regardless

STAFF at the Cats' Protection League charity shop, Old Street Ludlow, had a "carry on regardless" attitude on Monday after one of their two plate glass display windows was smashed.

"It happened on Saturday night. We don't know if it was vandals, thieves or just someone having a row," said shop manager Betty Didlick.

"I've told the police and we got someone round to board it up quickly.

"We've done our best to make it look as Christmassy as possible. But, of course, our Christmas display has gone by half and we can't show our usual stuff."

The premises' owners will now have to negotiate through their insurance company for a new window but it is unlikely this will be done before the beginning of January.

"We will carry on as best we can and our special mince pies sale will certainly go ahead," added Betty.
