A CELEBRATION of English music is being provided as a summer treat by the Ludlow Choral Society.
Ludlow Choral Society’s Summer Concert, “Poppies on the Wheat”, is a celebration of English composers and songs.
The performance will include Choral Dances from Benjamin Britten’s Gloriana and his Simple Symphony, Patrick Larley’s eponymous cycle of 5 settings of romantic poems by Victorian women, Poppies on the Wheat and John Rutter’s arrangements of British folksongs, A Sprig of Thyme.
Joining the Ludlow Choral Society chorus and Chamber Ensemble will be Mezzo-soprano Joyce Tindsley, conducted by the Choir’s Music Director, Patrick Larley.
The concert takes place at 7.30pm on Saturday, July 5 in St. Laurence’s Church, Ludlow.
