LUDLOW is one of three towns to form part of a series of books about the impact of the First World War.
The book is being written by Shropshire author Julie Phillips who worked in the town as a nanny while in her late teens.
Julie is also writing books about the impact of the conflict on Kidderminster and Newport.
“The publisher provided a list of towns that included Ludlow,” said Julie.
“As I know Ludlow it works well for me and I would like to talk to people whose families were affected by the war and also use photographs and documents from the time,” said Julie.
“This is not a military history but is about how the town and its people were affected.”
Julie hopes to have the book that will be about 36,000 words published by the summer of 2015.
