A GARDEN that it is intended to be an inspiration to people who love plants has been opened.

The Heartfelt Garden at Brook Farm in Berrington, near Tenbury Wells, is part of a 16th century farmstead.

"It’s called the Heartfelt Garden as it is been brought to life through our love of plants and gardening without any great depth of horticultural knowledge,” said Sarah Wint.

“Visitors are welcome Fridays to Sundays noon until dusk between April and October to see the two acre garden in all its glory and disarray.

"So much of the time people tell me they would love a garden like this but simply don't know where to start.

"I want to show people how you can create something beautiful without a great deal of horticultural expertise."

Part of the aim of the Horticultural Hub is to encourage new people to take up gardening and Sarah is convinced of the advantages of doing so.

"Gardening keeps you connected to your planet and the seasons and has an incredibly beneficial effect on the body and soul. It is a very creative and healing pastime," she added.

Her husband William Wint says some top advice will be available.

"Although we are amateurs, being members of the hub means we have some of the best experts in the country to call on for advice,” Henry said.

“We welcome old and young, novice and experienced gardeners to come along to our garden with their gardening questions. If we don't know the answer we will know someone who does."

Harriett Baldwin, Tenbury MP, opened the garden.

The Herefordshire Marches Horticultural Hub is a business to business group of more than 40 horticultural businesses.

They all work together to promote the industry and the hobby in the area. For more details visit www.hortihub.co.uk
