Adam Millichip Foundation to hold golf day

Ludlow Advertiser: The Adam Millichip Foundation is to hold a golf day at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club. The Adam Millichip Foundation is to hold a golf day at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club.

MORE than 200 golfers will tee off  on Friday at Cleobury Mortimer Golf Club.

They will be playing in memory of Adam Millichip from Tenbury who was killed in a tragic accident seven years ago aged just 27.

It is all in a good cause and will raise funds for the foundation set up in Adam’s name that helps people with disabilities to play sport.

The golf day is just one of an annual programme of events for the charity that has contributed £50,000 towards people who need help in all kinds of ways.

Behind the foundation is a trust, including Adam’s brother Stuart who lives in Tenbury.

“It is a very positive way to remember and commemorate Adam,” said Stuart.

“The golf day is now in its fifth year and has grown.

“We take over the club for the day and have players on the course from 7am in the morning almost until it gets dark.”

Golfers pay just £35 to take part and because the sport has a handicap system players of differing abilities can compete against each other.

Anyone who wants to book one of the few remaining tee times or help the foundation should contact Stuart on 07749 394231.
