8:47am Wednesday 30th April 2014 in News
AN estate near Craven Arms is to open its gates in aid of the National Gardens Scheme.
Millichope Park – lying between Craven Arms and Bridgnorth and extending to 14 acres with lakes, 18th century cascades, woodland walks, bluebells and wildflowers is open on Sunday (May 4).
There is a fascinating temple folly in the grounds and an icehouse. Within the walled garden, the well known Bout’s Violas nursery will also be open to visitors featuring the UK’s largest collection of perennial, scented violas with many varieties for sale with a proportion of sales going to NGS charities.
Millichope Park is open between 2pm and 6pm and is located eight miles north east of Craven Arms and 11 miles from Ludlow on the B4368 to Bridgnorth near the village of Munslow.
Admission is £5 for adults, children free. There is limited wheelchair access around the grounds. Teas and plants will be on sale and well-behaved dogs are welcome.
